Others, genuinely are interested in bettering themselves.  One piece of advice I give to people is simple...addiction oral fixation and the ease of instant gratification have all taken time from everyone when it comes to eating dieting and just living...my advice is usually to start simple, small and within reason..for instance I have a friend that weighed around 425lbs, big boy, football player, ate like crap, but also smoked drank dunkins anything, drank what seemed to be kegs of beer at a time, just really unhealthy. I told him and finally convinced him to quit one thing in his everyday life.  Sounds small, but after discussing options he quit drinking dunkins and getting fast food for a week, no workout yet, just quit something...his body went into overload shock and he lost 8 pounds in that one week just from cutting those small things out of his diet.
